Winter Park store runs

Winter Park is a separate city on Orlando’s north side, with its own published shopping districts and its own street work. A store run here is still the five-step job. Request, list, shop page, substitutions, drop-off. Plus two local facts: Park Avenue is a Florida Main Street district, and the city’s Park Avenue Refresh is rebuilding the avenue in phases while keeping pedestrian access to shops.

Three published districts

The Winter Park Chamber’s shopping-districts article names three places to shop: the Park Avenue District, Hannibal Square, and Winter Park Village. Park Avenue is the walkable main street of boutiques and restaurants. Hannibal Square sits a few steps off the Avenue with a quieter, local orientation. Winter Park Village is described as an open-air lifestyle center that mixes larger shops with dining.

The Florida Department of State’s December 2025 Main Street citation adds civic history: Park Avenue District is a 501(c)(3) formed in 2019 by merchants, residents, and civic partners, in partnership with the City of Winter Park and the Florida Main Street program. That is corridor identity. Each shop on the Avenue still has its own hours and its own (often in-person) handoff.

Street work on the Avenue

The City of Winter Park’s Park Avenue Refresh page states the work covers Park Avenue between Webster and Fairbanks avenues. The commercial and dining stretch. Goals include safety, infrastructure (electric, fiber, irrigation), and a consistent look. Phase 1 runs Webster to Garfield. The city says pedestrian traffic is maintained along the work so guests can continue to shop and dine, and it points to cityofwinterpark.org/government/projects/park-avenue-refresh/ plus monthly Park Avenue District meetings for updates.

For a run during construction: read the city’s project page the morning you go, then the shop’s own hours. The avenue is open to pedestrians; the curb and the parking stall may not be.

Grocers and household shops

Park Avenue is rich in specialty retail. A weekly grocery run usually sits off the Avenue, at a chain that publishes pickup. Publix Shop Online names delivery, in-store pickup, and curbside pickup; Target names Order Pickup and Drive Up. Use those locators for the Winter Park or nearby Orlando store. Reprinting a street number here would freeze an address the shop can change.

CVS Pharmacy Delivery covers prescription handoff for shops in the chain; Florida § 465.0155 still governs photo ID for controlled substances when the patient is not known to the pharmacist.

A Winter Park run, in order

1. Request Separate Avenue errands (a named boutique, a gift) from grocer perishables. They have different clocks.
2. List Grocer lines grouped frozen / cold / shelf. Avenue lines with shop names from the shop’s page.
3. Store pages Open Publix Shop Online or Target Pickup & Delivery for the food. Open each Avenue shop’s page for hold or in-person only.
4. Street notes If the Avenue is on the route, read the Refresh page for the block that is closed that week.
5. Drop-off Perishables first, within the USDA 2-hour / 1-hour window. Gifts can sit. Milk cannot.
