List, aisle, cooler, then the fridge

Leftovers and Food Safety guidance and FoodSafety.gov put perishable food on a 2-hour clock above 40 F, and 1 hour above 90 F. A Florida trunk in August is a hot box. Frozen and dairy go in a cooler that was cold before the lot.

A cooler that was already cold

The 2-hour clock starts when the bag leaves the cooler case, not when the car leaves the lot. Pack ice before anyone walks an aisle. A soft cooler in a hot trunk is still a cooler if the ice was in it first.
