Mills 50 store runs
Mills 50 is the Orlando Main Street district at Mills Avenue and State Road 50 (Colonial Drive). The district’s own overview calls it “the Intersection of Creativity + Culture,” about a mile northeast of downtown, wrapping Colonialtown, Lake Eola Heights, Park Lake Highland, and Hillcrest. A store run here is a linear strip job: many independent shops, a large Vietnamese business community, and chain pharmacies and grocers on the same arterials. Each handoff still comes from that shop’s page.
Where the district sits
mills50.org/about/overview places the district at Mills Avenue (U.S. 17-92) and Colonial Drive (S.R. 50), roughly half a mile south of the Orlando Museum of Art. The City of Orlando Main Street page lists the district office at 946 North Mills Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803, and describes locally owned hair salons, clothing, gift and running shops, bakeries, restaurants, a brewery, and a meadery. It also states that Mills 50 has more Michelin-recognized restaurants than any other Orlando neighborhood and is home to one of the largest Vietnamese populations in Florida.
What the public pages name
The district overview names independent businesses along Mills, Colonial, and the smaller cross-streets: teas and fresh-roasted coffees, vegetarian food, yoga, studios, and. As landmarks. Colonial Photo & Hobby, Wally’s Mills Avenue Liquors, Will’s Pub, the Historic Cameo Theater, and Track Shack. Those names are the district’s own list. For a store run, open the individual shop’s page before treating any of them as a pickup counter.

Running the strip
- Request Split food-hall or restaurant stops from grocer perishables. Mills 50 is dense; the USDA clock still applies once cold food is in the car.
- List Independent shops first (they may be counter-only), then the grocer or pharmacy that publishes pickup.
- Park once if you can The city’s Main Street page and local reporting both treat parking as a district issue. Use the shop’s own parking note; residential side streets are neighborhoods, not lots.
- Handoff One ticket per shop. A bakery counter and a CVS Rx are different IDs and different bags.
- Drop-off Refrigerate on the way home. Do not add “one more stop” after the cold bag is closed.
Mills 50 is walkable in pieces and arterial in the middle. Plan the crossing; then plan the cold bag.
Crossing Mills Avenue
The City of Orlando is designing a new pedestrian crosswalk on Mills Avenue at Canton Street to improve safety in the Mills 50 Main Street District, with a public meeting listed for April 28, 2026 and construction aimed at fall 2026 on the city’s project page. Until that work is in the street, treat Mills Avenue as a high-traffic crossing: use marked crossings, and do not leave a perishable bag in a parked car while running a second errand on the far side.
